Lindsay obtained her B.F.A. in Art Education from UMASS Dartmouth. The past 5 years she has been teaching children and teens in the New Bedford Area. She has experience working with individuals with special needs and believes art can be used to communicate what words cannot.
Lindsay’s teaching style is laid back. She encourages creativity and individual expression. She enjoys unraveling an artwork, and figuring out the clearest way to teach others how to paint it step by step. Lindsay believes painting is a process that takes practice. Anyone can paint. The only way to improve our abilities are by making mistakes and working through them.
Lindsay’s paintings and drawings explore the human figure and ventures into the surreal realms. She is inspired by artists including Frida Kahlo, Alberto Giacometti, and Gustav Klimt. Their artwork evokes emotion, and can be beautiful and grotesque simultaneously. Outside of the studio, Lindsay is an athlete and nature enthusiast. In addition to art, she enjoys running, swimming, and hanging out with her friends.

Blaine tends to use humor to create a relaxing atmosphere that allows her students to let the creative process work for them.
